About ‘Krabby Patty Secret Formulers’
One day, a handful of years ago, I wrote out a whole bunch of journal prompts (maybe a little more than 100) on little slips of paper. I rolled them up, put a tiny, golden split ring around each scroll and put them all in a box.
It was a wooden box with pink crystals inlayed in the wood, with the word “namaste” on it and the Anjali Mudra. I attached a tracker to the back of the box and put it on my shelf. It became a part of my routine habits.
I would grab the box, take a journal prompt, unravel it, write it down in my journal, answer the prompt in my journal, then roll the paper back up, mark it with a tiny black dot (so I know that I have completed that prompt before), throw it back into the box of others and check off the tracker on the back. These slips of paper would move from that wooden box to eventually a clear plastic container.
My nephew asked me what they were and I told him that they were Krabby Patty Secret Formulers (like formulas but with a silly accent). Eager, like Plankton, to figure out what was inside, he unrolled a scroll and found nothing but journal prompts. He even took a few; he likes little trinkets, especially ones he finds in my room.
Anyways, now these Krabby Patty Secret Formulers live in my desk drawer and I have often caught my 3rd nephew playing with them, grabbing the formulers and throwing them on the floor. He’s learning that whenever he does this, he has to clean them back up, so he’s doing it less and less.
I’ve sorted the formulers into ones that have black dots and ones without since there have been times where I would keep grabbing prompts I’ve already done and don’t want to do again. Now they’re all jumbled in my drawer. They’re pretty tiny and cute, an inch tall.
I guess you can say they’re secret formulas to unlocking different parts of your mind.
