What’re you celebrating?

Life!

But I get what Rhino is saying. (Reference to the YouTube video I am alluding to here).

I feel this way about Stoney’s not gonna lie haha. Even though there are a plethora of line dances I can be learning or improving on, going now just doesn’t hit the same. I got my fix after not going for that whole year I was living my life with a significant other.  It didn’t take long for me to feel satisfied with going back there.

When I first started going, it was new and exciting. But now, there are some times when I’m out on the dance floor dancing the same dance that I once was a newbie at and I have a thought of being bored with it. I try to let that thought pass and continue with being present in the moment. After I call it a night, I often reflect on the drive home: I am glad that I went out and got some cardio in; I really do enjoy dancing. Recently, I’ve been coming home thinking about all of the things I could’ve been doing instead.

Side note: this thought doesn’t only occur when I go to Stoney’s, there are many other times where I have the same thought doing different things.

Don’t get me wrong, I would go to Stoney’s and read, journal or crotchet in between line dances so that not all my time was dedicated to just being out, but lately, I’ve been enjoying slow nights where I do those things at home and with the girlies. There’s nothing wrong with that, either!

I guess I am just acknowledging that I understand what Rhino was saying, but I also understand and have been on the other side where I am out and about without something to actually celebrate other than the fact that I want to do whatever it is I am doing.

Something I still try to balance is the actions that I take from having a mindset of living my best life right now (aka YOLO) and living in the present for the future. After having the mindset of not wanting to live, I would do all types of things without thinking about how it would have an impact on my life in the future. Before that, I had the mindset of figuring out what I want to become “in the future” so much so that it paralyzed me from actually doing things. Now, I try to take action on things that help out future Jadalyn while also trying to stay present with the beauties of the now.
